English Feeding Charts and Preparation Instructions for European Baby Formula

Most European formula packs we carry are labeled in German, Dutch, or French. This page links straight to the English translation for each one: how many scoops, how much water, how many bottles a day, the full ingredient list, and the complete nutrition table for every HiPP and Holle formula we sell.

Every chart is transcribed from the current pack in our own warehouse, in ml and fl oz, and checked against the manufacturer's own figures. Pick your product below.

Why Kendamil UK and HiPP UK are not on this page. Their packaging is already printed in English, so there is nothing to translate. The feeding chart, ingredients, and nutrition table are on the pack itself and on each product page. Browse Kendamil UK formula or HiPP formula, or email us and we will read your pack with you.

  3. Not sure how much your baby needs, or how much to order? Use the Baby Formula Calculator.

What parents ask most

How many scoops of formula per 100 ml?

Almost every European formula uses 1 level scoop per 30 ml of water, which is 3 scoops for a 100 ml (3.4 fl oz) bottle. The weight of that scoop is what changes between stages, so always use the scoop that came in your own pack and level it with the back of a knife. Never add an extra scoop.

What water temperature should I use?

Boil fresh drinking water, then let it cool. HiPP Combiotik and Holle ask for about 50 °C (120 °F) before mixing, so the cultures and nutrients are not damaged. Feed at about 37 °C (98 °F) and always test a drop on the inside of your wrist.

Is the DHA from fish oil or algae?

It varies by product, and it determines whether the formula is vegetarian. Holle uses algae oil, so Holle formulas are vegetarian. Several HiPP recipes use fish oil, which makes them non-vegetarian and adds fish to the allergen line. Each product page states which one it is.

How long does an opened pack last?

Use the powder within 2 to 3 weeks of opening. Keep it cool and dry; never refrigerate. Make each bottle fresh, use it within 1 hour, and never reheat in a microwave.

How do I read the date on the pack?

European packs use DD/MM/YYYY. So 05/09/2027 means 5 September 2027, not 9 May.

Can I switch between stages or brands?

Stages are not interchangeable. Stage Pre and Stage 1 are from birth, Stage 2 from about 6 months, Stage 3 from about 10 months, and Stage 4 from about 12 months. Ask your pediatrician before you switch, and follow the age printed on the pack.
