PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS
First wash your hands and sterilize the bottle, the teat and the ring in boiling water for 10 minutes. Then follow the five steps in the picture above.
- Boil fresh drinking water and let it cool to about 40 to 50 °C (104 to 122 °F). Never pour boiling water onto the powder, it destroys the natural lactic acid cultures.
- Pour the right amount of cooled water into the bottle. See the feeding chart below for the amount.
- Add 1 level scoop of 4.5 g for every 30 ml (1 fl oz) of water. Fill the scoop loosely, level it off with the back of a clean knife, and do not press the powder down. Use only the 4.5 g scoop that came in this pack, because scoop weights differ between brands, between stages and sometimes between batches.
- Close the bottle and shake vigorously until the powder has dissolved completely.
- Let it cool to drinking temperature, about 37 °C (98 °F), then test a drop on the inside of your wrist. It should feel warm, not hot. Now it is ready.

This is a follow-on milk, not a first milk as HiPP Dutch Stage 1. It is suitable for babies who are at least 6 months old, and only as part of a varied diet alongside solid food. Ask your doctor whether your baby is ready for solids before you switch.
Important notes
- Make each bottle just before the feed and give it straight away. Use it within half an hour.
- Never reuse milk your baby has left. Throw it away.
- Never warm a bottle in the microwave. It heats unevenly and can scald your baby's mouth.
- After opening, keep the pack tightly closed in a dry place at room temperature and use it within 3 weeks. Never store it in the fridge, and keep it away from heat and damp.
- The date is on the bottom of the pack and is written DD/MM/YYYY. So 05/09/2027 means 5 September 2027, not 9 May.
- The amounts below are a guide. Your baby does not have to finish the bottle. Ask your pediatrician if you are unsure.
Feeding chart
Always 1 level scoop of 4.5 g per 30 ml (1 fl oz) of water. Babies at this age need about 5 feeds a day. This 800 g (28.2 oz) pack makes approx. 60 bottles of 100 ml. Treat that as a guide, the exact number depends on how you level each scoop and on a little spillage.

The amounts go by bottle size rather than by age, because from 6 months the amount depends on how much solid food your baby is already eating. Every new solid meal replaces one bottle feed. The amounts and the number of feeds per day are guide values.

This formula is not vegetarian. The DHA comes from fish oil, not algae oil. If you need a vegetarian formula, look at our vegetarian formulas instead.

This Stage 2 pack does not list choline, inositol, L-carnitine or arachidonic acid (ARA). Stage 1 does. That is a real difference between the two recipes, not a gap in this page.
