The HiPP stage 2 range is well-tailored so that it can meet your little once growth and development. HiPP formula stage 2 is suitable from 6 months onwards. Iron, Calcium and Vitamin D

The HiPP formulas are tailored to your baby’s nutritional requirements at each respective age. The biggest difference between stage 1 and 2 is the need for iron and increased calcium needs.

Iron is a mineral that babies and children could need for good health and development. Red blood cells contain hemoglobin, a protein that carries oxygen to all cells in the body. If you have insufficient iron, your body might not be able to carry enough oxygen to the organs and muscles. Because the natural iron deposits in your baby tend to deplete by six months of age, the increased level of iron present in HiPP formula stage 2 is helpful to keep up a healthy iron level. Calcium helps for strong bones. Both an increase in Iron and Calcium are good to support the physical milestones your little one is aiming to reach.

Protein composition – casein and whey

The protein composition in the HiPP stage 1 Infant formula can contribute to the prevention of childhood obesity as it is in line with the protein found in breastmilk, 40% casein, and 60% whey. According to experts and studies, this protein composition closely aligns with the physiological needs of infants younger than 6 months.

Once your little one is starting to become more active, the protein intake need also increases. This is when your baby reaches the age of 6 months and older.

Hipp formula stage 2 has a protein mix of 60% casein and 40% whey. This makes the formula more filling for babies even though they are getting the same number of ounces per bottle. Your baby is most likely moving more, so this extra energy is very welcome and supports physiological development.

Some of the other reasons why we love HiPP stage 2:

Difference between HiPP formula stage 2 - Dutch & German

We offer two HiPP formula stage 2, the Dutch and the German version. The differences between these two formulas across the most important ingredients are:

There are two ingredients that are present in the German formula that is not in the Dutch version, namely soy and starch. The absents of these two ingredients in the HiPP stage 2 Dutch range make this, for many parents, the favorable between the two.
