Holle Organic Cow Formula –Stage 4 (600g) Age: 12+ Months

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

First wash your hands and clean the bottle or cup, and the teat and ring if you use them. Holle uses a two step water method, so the water goes in twice. Follow the steps in the picture above.

1. Boil fresh drinking water and let it cool to about 50 °C (122 °F).
2. Pour half the water into the bottle. See the feeding chart below for the full amount.
3. Add 1 level scoop of 4.2 g for every 30 ml (1 fl oz) of the full water amount. Fill the scoop loosely and level it off with the back of a clean knife. Use only the 4.2 g scoop that came in this box, because scoop weights differ between brands and between stages. The Holle Stage 3 scoop is 4.4 g, so do not swap them.
4. Close the bottle and shake vigorously.
5. Add the rest of the water and shake well again.
6. Let it cool to drinking temperature, about 37 °C (98 °F). Test a drop on the inside of your wrist. It should feel warm, not hot. Now it is ready.

Half the water first is what stops the powder clumping. Adding all the water at once still works, but you will be shaking a lot longer.

What makes Holle Bio 4 different

• Algae DHA, not fish oil. The DHA comes from the microalga Schizochytrium, which is why this formula is suitable for vegetarians. Most other European formulas use fish oil.
• The lightest of the range. 64 kcal per 100 ml against 67 in Stage 3, less fat, less lactose and less starch, because by now most of your child's energy comes from food.
• More iron, B12 and folate than Stage 3, which are the nutrients toddlers most often run short of.
• German organic milk, certified DE-ÖKO-001, with the EU organic leaf and the German Bio seal.

Important notes

• Make each drink fresh just before the meal and give it straight away. Never reuse milk your child has left.
• Stick to the mixing ratio exactly. Too much or too little powder changes the nutrition your child gets.
• Never warm it in the microwave. It heats unevenly and can scald your child's mouth.
• Store the box in a cool, dry place and use it within the time on the pack once opened.
• The date is on the box and is written DD/MM/YYYY. So 05/09/2027 means 5 September 2027, not 9 May.
• If you do use a bottle, do not let your child hold it for long periods. Frequent or long contact between the teeth and drinks that contain carbohydrate can cause tooth decay, so brush from the first tooth.
• The amounts below are a guide. Your child does not have to finish the cup. Small differences from day to day are completely normal.

Feeding chart

Always 1 level scoop of 4.2 g per 30 ml (1 fl oz) of water. This 600 g (21.2 oz) box makes approx. 47 drinks of 100 ml. Treat that as a guide, the exact number depends on how you level each scoop and on a little spillage.

There are no age rows on this chart, only cup sizes, because from 12 months nearly everything your child eats is family food. One to two drinks a day is the guide, and small differences from day to day are completely normal.

Certified organic: EU organic leaf, DE-ÖKO-001 and the German Bio seal. Unlike Holle Bio Stage 3, this Stage 4 box is not Demeter.
