Your baby’s first birthday has arrived and is now officially a toddler. In just one year time your baby has developed from a completely helpless newborn to an independent little person. Your baby’s weight has likely tripled since birth and they have grown about 9 to 11 inches taller. The HiPP Combiotic stage 3 formula is tailored so that it can meet your little ones growth and development at this age. Read on to find out what makes the composition of stage 3 formula suitable for your baby’s development in this coming year:

Bar chart comparing iron, calcium, and vitamin D content in different stages of milk formula from Infant to Junior from 2 years.

      Iron, Calcium & vitamin D

The biggest difference between stage 2 and stage 3 HiPP Combiotic is the calcium amount present in the formula. Calcium becomes more important as the bones of your little one is growing.

Vitamin D is also important as it helps with the absorption of calcium and therefore also helps with bone growth. When comparing Hipp Organic Growing-up milk to cows’ milk it contains 40 times more iron than whole cows’ milk does. It helps your little one meet their daily requirement for this essential nutrient.

      Omega 3

Besides the physical growth, your baby’s brain has (literally) also grown. HiPP Combiotic stage 3 contains naturally occurring omega 3 fatty acid (alpha-linolenic acid) which can be important for brain and nervous system development.

Protein composition – casein and whey

The need for protein is very much grown in the last year as your toddler is moving and much more active than before. HiPP Combiotic stage 3 has a protein mix of 80% casein and 20% whey and is modeled more like cow’s milk rather than on breast milk. Your toddler might need this extra casein to support the energy level due to their physiological developments.
