Description
HiPP Dutch Stage 2 Bio COMBIOTIK is an organic follow-on formula for babies from 6 months onward, used as part of a mixed diet alongside first solids. You can use it after breastfeeding or straight after HiPP Dutch Stage 1.
When your baby reaches the six-month mark, nutritional needs change. Iron steps up to support healthy blood and a fast-developing brain, and each feed is a little more filling so the bottle sits well next to first bites. Lactose stays the only carbohydrate, the same as in breast milk, with no starch and no maltodextrin. Prebiotics and probiotics keep the tummy balanced while new foods arrive, and DHA supports eyesight during this stage of looking, reaching, and learning. In this clean organic recipe you will find no added sugar, no corn syrup, and no soy.
This exceptional cow milk formula is crafted in Germany for the Dutch market. It is certified EU Organic (DE-ÖKO-001) with the HiPP Bio seal on top, and comes in an 800 g (28.2 oz) can. Labeling is Dutch and French, which is why we translated the preparation instructions and ingredient info into English here.
This formula is rated 4.9 stars by parents in our store. "Our baby girl can't wait for the formula bottle."

What Makes This Formula Special
At six months, milk is no longer the whole story. Solids start, days get busier, and parents want a follow-on formula that still feels clean and familiar.
The heart of the recipe is COMBIOTIK, HiPP's synbiotic combination of prebiotics and probiotics. The prebiotic fibers feed the good bacteria already in your baby's gut, and the probiotic culture L. fermentum, originally isolated from breast milk, adds to them. HiPP pioneered this nature-inspired combination more than 15 years ago, and it is still unique. Together they help a baby keep a balanced tummy while new foods arrive, and parents often notice less gas, less fuss, and stools that stay regular.
Because lactose is the only carbohydrate, the bottle stays gentle on a tummy that is still learning solids. There is no added starch and no maltodextrin, because those fillers can make a feed heavier than a growing baby needs. The protein comes from organic skim milk, and organic vegetable oils add the calories a busy six-month-old burns between bites, naps, and play.
HiPP also uses Metafolin® instead of synthetic folic acid. It is a natural premium folate, the same form found in breast milk. Folic acid has to be converted by the body first, while Metafolin® is directly available, so your baby can use it right away. Vitamin D and vitamin C support the immune system, and iron doubles compared to Stage 1 (1.0 mg vs 0.50 mg per 100 ml). Babies are born with an iron store built up during pregnancy, and that store slowly runs down over the first months. By around 6 months it needs topping up, so Stage 2 steps in with more iron. Energy rises slightly too, from 66 to 68 kcal per 100 ml, so the bottle sits well beside first meals.
This formula carries EU Organic plus the HiPP Bio seal. EU Organic is the legal baseline: organic feed, no GMOs, and EU animal-welfare rules. The HiPP Bio seal goes further and means extra lab checks for purity beyond what organic law requires. That is why every can also stays free of GMOs, artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives.
One practical note when you step up: the Stage 2 scoop is 4.5 g, slightly larger than the 4.3 g scoop in Stage 1. Always use the scoop that comes in the can.
As your baby grows, HiPP Dutch Stage 3 continues the same prebiotic and probiotic blend from around 10 months. Need a specialty option for colic or spit-up? See our formulas for sensitive tummies.
Safety, Quality and Animal Welfare
HiPP does not pack a can until the batch has passed its own extra lab checks. Every batch goes through up to 260 safety checks, from the raw milk to the finished can, in HiPP's climate-neutral plant. That is more residue testing than EU organic law requires. The cows used for this organic milk are raised under EU organic rules and spend as much time as possible outdoors, grazing on pasture.
EU baby formula follows strict European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) rules, including required DHA, iron that changes by age, and no corn syrup solids. Those rules are a higher bar than FDA formula standards and apply to all EU and UK formulas we carry. Read more in our EU vs US formula guide.

How to make a bottle

HiPP Dutch Stage 2 uses a one-step mixing method.
- Wash your hands thoroughly. Sterilize the bottle, teat, and ring by boiling in water for 10 minutes.
- Boil fresh drinking water and let it cool. Do not pour boiling water directly onto the powder, as this may damage the natural probiotic cultures.
- Pour the required amount of cooled water into the sterilized bottle (see feeding chart for amounts).
- Fill the measuring scoop loosely and level it off. Add the recommended number of scoops to the bottle. Scoop size: 4.5g (one scoop per 30ml of water). Use only the scoop included in this can.
- Close the bottle and shake vigorously until the powder is fully dissolved.
- Cool to drinking temperature, approximately 37°C (98°F). Always test on the inside of your wrist before feeding.
Important Information:
- Only use the scoop provided in the pack.
- Do not make feeds weaker or stronger than indicated by adding extra water/scoops, and do not add anything else to the milk.
- Always freshly prepare formula and do not prepare in advance. Use immediately, and discard leftovers at the end of the feed.
- Do not heat a bottle in a microwave, as hot spots may occur, which could cause scalding.
- All opened formulas should be used within 21 days. Never use a formula beyond its expiration date. The expiration date on the formula box/tin is listed according to European standards: day/month/year
- Avoid storing in areas of high heat or humidity.
