Description
When your baby struggles with a sensitive tummy, it can be hard to watch. Colic, gas, and constipation often turn feeding time into a stressful experience for both of you. Many parents look for something gentle yet effective, and that’s where HiPP Comfort All-Stages Spezialnahrung comes in. Comfort is specially formulated with reduced lactose (2.7 g per 100 ml) to help manage gas, lactose-related three-month colic, and constipation for infants 0+.
Four ingredients do the work: reduced lactose, hydrolyzed whey protein, GOS prebiotics, and beta-palmitate, a fat structured like the fat in breast milk. For little ones with a sensitive digestive system, this unique combination helps loosen stools and support more regular bowel movements. The blend of maltodextrin and mild starch also gives the formula a creamy texture that helps keep babies fuller and more content after feedings. Many U.S. parents describe it as a “lifesaver” in their reviews, and it has become one of our store's most popular specialty formulas.
To support your baby’s gut microbiome, immune system, and overall digestive health, HiPP Comfort includes both prebiotics (galacto-oligosaccharides derived from lactose) and the natural probiotic Limosilactobacillus fermentum CECT5716, a culture similar to those found in breast milk. The whey protein is hydrolyzed, split into small building blocks that are easier to digest. These components may help ease uncomfortable symptoms such as colic and gas while softening stools to relieve constipation.
Alongside essential vitamins and minerals, the formula also provides omega-3 and omega-6 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, including 13.2 mg each of DHA and ARA per 100 ml, which support healthy development of the brain, eyes, and nervous system. It also contains Metafolin® (calcium-L-methylfolate), the bioactive form of folate mirroring breast milk, plus choline (25 mg) and inositol (4.2 mg).
Unlike many U.S.-produced formulas, HiPP Comfort contains no corn syrup, glucose syrup, or sucrose. You will find no GMO ingredients, synthetic nutrients, or artificial preservatives, and only carefully selected ingredients that meet the highest European formula regulations set by the EFSA. This formula is made in Germany with decades of HiPP expertise. It's an all-stages specialty formula that meets the high quality and safety standards parents expect from European infant nutrition.
What is the difference between HiPP Comfort and HiPP German Anti-Reflux?
Both are German special formulas suitable from birth and contain the probiotic Limosilactobacillus fermentum. They solve different problems. HiPP Comfort is for gas, lactose-related colic, and constipation, and it works by reducing lactose and hydrolyzing the whey protein. Anti-Reflux is for a baby who brings milk back up, and it works with locust bean gum, a thickener from the carob seed. Anti-Reflux keeps full lactose at 6.9g and contains no prebiotics, while Comfort has 0.3g GOS. Neither is suitable for a baby with a diagnosed or suspected cow's milk protein allergy.
Where does HiPP Comfort sit in the range?
Comfort is not a stage formula. It has no stage number and no next stage to move up to. Most families use it while symptoms settle, then move across to a regular formula, in the HiPP German range that is usually HiPP German Stage 1 Bio Combiotik from birth, or HiPP German Stage 2 from 6 months.
Please note:
- HiPP Comfort is a specialty formula against colic and is a specialty formula and not a medical treatment. Before deciding to use it, we advise consulting your pediatrician.
- HiPP Comfort formula cannot be certified as organic because the hydrolyzed milk protein is not available in organic form.

Preparation for HiPP powdered formulas:
- Wash your hands and sterilize the bottle, teat, and ring. Clean them thoroughly.
- Boil fresh drinking water and let it cool. Do not prepare the formula with boiling or very hot water, as this may damage the natural lactic acid cultures.
- Pour the correct amount of cooled boiled water into the sterilized bottle (see feeding chart).
- Measure the recommended amount of powder. Fill the scoop loosely and level off. Add the powder to the water. Scoop size: 4.3g. Use 1 scoop per 30ml water.
- Close the bottle and shake vigorously until the powder is fully dissolved.
- Cool to drinking temperature, approximately 37°C (98°F). Test on the inside of your wrist before feeding. Always prepare fresh for each feed and discard any leftovers. Close the inner bag tightly after each use.
Important Information:
- Only use the scoop provided in the pack.
- Do not make feeds weaker or stronger than indicated by adding extra water/scoops, and do not add anything else to the milk.
- Always freshly prepare formula and do not prepare in advance. Use immediately, and discard leftovers at the end of the feed.
- Do not heat a bottle in a microwave, as hot spots may occur, which could cause scalding.
- All opened formulas should be used within 21 days. Never use a formula beyond its expiration date. The expiration date on the formula box/tin is listed according to European standards: day/month/year
- Avoid storing in areas of high heat or humidity.
