Description
Holle Organic Goat Formula Stage 1 is a delicious organic goat milk formula for babies from birth. Use it as the sole source of nutrition or to supplement breastfeeding. It is a favorite among parents seeking a naturally gentle alternative to cow's milk formula.
The recipe starts where few formulas do: with whole goat milk from organic German farms, raised biodynamically according to Demeter standards. Goat milk naturally contains the A2 protein and lactose, the same sugar as in breast milk, which is the only added carbohydrate. DHA at 15 mg per 100 ml (3.4 fl oz) supports brain and eye health, along with ARA. This clean recipe contains no palm oil, added sugar, corn syrup, soy, or maltodextrin.
This premium goat milk formula is crafted in Germany from German milk and comes in a 400 g (14.1 oz) box. The label is in German, so we translated the preparation instructions, feeding chart, and ingredient information into English here.
This formula is rated 4.9/5 stars by parents in our store. "This goat milk smells clean, light, and tastes great!"

What Makes This Formula Special
Holle has made goat milk formula for more than 20 years, and this recipe shows why parents keep choosing Holle. The base is whole goat milk, so some fat comes naturally from the milk itself, rounded out with organic sunflower and rapeseed oil instead of palm oil. Goat milk also naturally contains the A2 milk protein and forms a soft curd in the tummy, which is why so many families with sensitive little ones try goat first.
What makes Holle special is how the milk is farmed. This formula is triple certified: EU Organic (DE-ÖKO-001) as the legal baseline, the German Bio-Siegel on top, and Demeter, the biodynamic standard that goes furthest of all, with strict animal welfare and farming in harmony with soil and nature. The DHA is plant-based, from algal oil rather than fish oil, which keeps this formula vegetarian, and choline supports early development alongside a full profile of vitamins and minerals.
One honest note, because goat milk is often sought for allergy reasons: it still contains milk proteins. It is not a treatment for a confirmed or suspected cow's milk protein allergy. Always ask your pediatrician first if allergies are a concern. For everyday sensitive tummies, gas, or general fussiness with cow's milk formula, goat milk could be the gentle path you are looking for; our guide to goat milk formula for sensitive tummies explains why so many parents make the switch.
Prefer a bigger pack? Holle Goat Dutch Stage 1 brings the same Demeter idea in an 800 g can, usually the better value per gram, while this German box remains the compact way to start or supplement. At 6 months, Holle Goat Stage 2 continues the range, and you can compare all our newborn formulas from birth in one place.
Safety, Quality and Animal Welfare
Holle has stood for organic quality for more than 85 years and was the world's first Demeter producer of baby food. Biodynamic farming means the goats are raised with high animal-welfare standards on organic German farms, and every ingredient is strictly controlled from farm to box. Simple, natural recipes are the whole philosophy: what your baby does not need does not go in.
EU baby formula follows strict European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) rules, including required DHA and no corn syrup solids. Those rules are a higher bar than FDA formula standards and apply to all EU and UK formulas we carry. Read more in our EU vs US formula guide.
Why Parents Trust Holle Bio Goat Stage 1
Many families come here after cow's milk formula didn't agree with their baby. "With my firstborn, I used Enfamil, and he struggled with gas and colic. I tried Holle Bio Goat Formula for my secondborn, and it made such a difference. She's never had issues," one parent wrote. Another noticed the change quickly: "A lot less spit-up now, and she seems to love it!" Settled tummies, a clean taste, and easy mixing come up in review after review.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Holle German Goat Stage 1 suitable from birth?
Yes. It is a complete organic infant formula from birth, used as the sole source of nutrition or alongside breastfeeding. At 6 months, Holle Goat Stage 2 is the next step in the range.
Why choose goat milk formula over cow milk formula?
Goat milk naturally contains the A2 protein and forms a softer curd in the stomach. Many parents of sensitive babies notice calmer digestion, less gas, and less spit-up after switching. It could be a gentler option for your little one, with the same complete nutrition.
Is this formula suitable for a cow's milk protein allergy?
No. Goat milk still contains milk proteins, so it is not a treatment for a confirmed or suspected cow's milk protein allergy. For allergy concerns, choose a formula under medical guidance; for everyday sensitivity, goat milk is a gentle option.
Is this formula vegetarian?
Yes. The DHA comes from plant-based algal oil rather than fish oil. It contains no palm oil, and the recipe carries the Demeter biodynamic seal in addition to its EU Organic certification.
How long does one box last?
The 400 g (14.1 oz) box yields about 30 bottles of 100 ml (3.4 fl oz) when using the included scoop (4.5 g per 30 ml of water). Our formula calculator shows exactly how many boxes you need for your baby's age.
