Description
HiPP UK Organic Formula, Stage 2 is an organic follow-on milk for babies from 6 months. It supports the weaning journey as part of a mixed diet, alongside solid foods and continued breastfeeding if you wish.
The recipe stays as clean as the UK Stage 1 that came before it. Lactose remains the main carbohydrate, the same sugar as in breast milk, with no starch added. GOS prebiotics keep the tummy happy, DHA at 13.6 mg per 100 ml (3.4 fl oz) supports brain and eye development, and the iron level increases right when your baby's own iron stores need topping up. No added sugar, corn syrup, or soy. Everything on the pack is in plain English, from the feeding guide to the ingredient list.
HiPP makes this mild organic follow-on milk in Germany for the UK market; it's certified organic under UK and EU rules and comes in a large 800 g (28.2 oz) can with a handy scoop holder and leveler in the lid. Full English labeling means you can read every instruction right on the can, no translation needed.
This formula is rated 4.9 stars by parents in our store. "Great transition formula from breast milk! Baby was about 7 months when we started."

What Makes This Formula Special
At 6 months, mealtimes start to change. First spoonfuls arrive, little hands grab at the family table, and milk shifts from the whole story to the strong foundation underneath it. HiPP UK Stage 2 is built for exactly that role: about 500 to 600 ml a day, as a drink, on cereals, or stirred into other foods, rounding out a weaning diet with dependable organic nutrition.
Iron is the headline change. Babies are born with an iron store built up during pregnancy, and that store slowly runs down over the first months. By around 6 months it needs topping up, so Stage 2 doubles the iron to 1.0 mg per 100 ml, supporting healthy blood, oxygen transport, and a fast-developing brain—calcium and vitamin D work together for growing bones and the first teeth.
The rest of the recipe keeps the UK line's deliberate simplicity. Organic skim milk and organic whey provide gentle protein, organic vegetable oils bring the healthy fats, and the GOS prebiotic fibers, made from organic lactose, feed the good bacteria already in your baby's gut. This stage also includes Metafolin®, a natural premium folate in the same form found in breast milk, available for your baby to use right away. The fish oil behind the DHA is sustainably sourced.
Coming from HiPP UK Stage 1? The transition is seamless, with the same mild taste and the same clean label. Want prebiotics and probiotics combined? HiPP Dutch Stage 2 is the COMBIOTIK option in the same can format. Prefer a creamier, more filling feed? HiPP German Stage 2 adds organic starch. And from 12 months, HiPP UK Stage 3 continues the UK range for toddlers.
Safety, Quality and Animal Welfare
Every batch goes through up to 260 safety checks before release, from the raw materials to the finished can. HiPP tests for far more residues than the law requires and packs a batch only if it meets HiPP's own tighter limits. The cows behind this organic milk are raised under organic rules, with organic feed and high animal-welfare standards, and both the palm oil and the fish oil are sustainably sourced.
EU baby formula follows strict European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) rules, including required DHA, staged iron by age, and no corn syrup solids. Those rules are a higher bar than FDA formula standards and apply to all EU and UK formulas we carry. Read more in our EU vs US formula guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
What age is HiPP UK Stage 2 for?
It is a follow-on milk from 6 months, used as part of a mixed diet alongside solid foods and continued breastfeeding, if you wish. From 12 months, HiPP UK Stage 3 is the next step for toddlers.
What is the difference between HiPP UK Stage 1 and Stage 2?
Stage 2 doubles the iron because a baby's own iron stores from birth need topping up around 6 months, and adds Metafolin®, a natural folate in the same form found in breast milk. Lactose stays the main carbohydrate with no starch added, and the mild taste stays the same, so switching is seamless.
Does this formula contain probiotics?
No. The UK recipe uses GOS prebiotic fibers only, which feed the good bacteria already in your baby's gut. If you want prebiotics and probiotics combined, HiPP Dutch Stage 2 is the COMBIOTIK option.
How much follow-on milk does my baby need per day?
From 6 months onwards, the guideline printed on the can is about 500 to 600 ml a day, either as a drink, on cereals, or added to other foods. Every baby is different, so treat it as a guide and adjust to your little one's appetite.
How long does one can last?
The 800 g (28.2 oz) can makes about 60 bottles of 100 ml (3.4 fl oz), using the included scoop (4.5 g per 30 ml of water). Once opened, use within 3 weeks. Our formula calculator shows exactly how many cans you need for your baby's age.

How to make a bottle

Preparation for HiPP powdered formulas:
To open the can: remove the tamper-proof clip and dispose of it safely. Open the lid and take out the scoop held inside it. Slowly pull back the foil seal using the tab. To close, push the lid down until you hear the click. Follow these steps carefully. Powdered milk is not sterile, so incorrect preparation can make your baby ill.
- Wash your hands and sterilize all equipment following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Boil 1 liter of freshly run water and leave it to cool for no longer than 30 minutes. Do not use artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water.
- Measure the required amount of water into the sterilized bottle, referring to the feeding guide.
- Using the scoop provided, add the correct number of scoops of powder. Level off using the scoop leveller. Do not press the powder down. Scoop size: 4.5g. Use 1 scoop per 30ml water.
- Place the sterilized teat and cap on the bottle and shake well until all the powder has dissolved, about 15 seconds.
- Cool to drinking temperature, approximately 37°C (98°F), by holding the bottle under cold running water. Feed immediately. Always test the temperature of the milk before feeding.
Important Information:
- Only use the scoop provided in the pack.
- Do not make feeds weaker or stronger than indicated by adding extra water/scoops, and do not add anything else to the milk.
- Always freshly prepare formula and do not prepare in advance. Use immediately, and discard leftovers at the end of the feed.
- Do not heat a bottle in a microwave, as hot spots may occur, which could cause scalding.
- All opened formulas should be used within 21 days. Never use a formula beyond its expiration date. The expiration date on the formula box/tin is listed according to European standards: day/month/year
- Avoid storing in areas of high heat or humidity.
