Description
Holle A2 Stage 3 Organic Formula is an organic follow-on formula made with A2 cow milk for little ones from 10 months, and it can be enjoyed all the way through the third year. It is served as part of a mixed diet, 1 to 2 milk meals a day alongside increasingly varied family meals, not as the sole source of nutrition.
By 10 months, your baby is pulling up, cruising, and reaching for whatever is on your plate. This creamy follow-on milk backs up those busy days. The milk still comes from specially selected cows that naturally produce only the A2 beta-casein protein, the original form Holle calls "Urmilch", iron stays high for healthy blood and a fast-developing brain, DHA supports eyesight, ALA omega-3 supports the brain and nerve cells, and vitamins C and D look after the immune system. As always with Holle, there is no corn syrup and no soy anywhere in the recipe.
It is crafted in Germany, fully certified EU Organic (DE-ÖKO-001), and comes in a 400 g (14.1 oz) box. Labeling is German and French, which is why we translated the preparation instructions, feeding chart, and ingredient info into English here.
Parents in our store give this formula top marks. "By the time we reached Stage 3, there really wasn't much of a decision to make. The earlier stages had gone well, so I ordered the next one."

What Makes This Formula Special
Families rarely arrive at Stage 3 by accident. Most have been on the A2 path since the early months, choosing it because the milk from cows that produce only the A2 protein settled a sensitive little tummy. Stage 3 lets you maintain that continuity while the recipe grows with your child: a touch more protein for busy muscles, lactose still leading the carbohydrates, with a little organic starch and organic maltodextrin for a smooth, satisfying feed, and iron staying high for the picky-eating days when lunch was two bites of banana.
The supporting cast matters at this age too. DHA from plant-based algae oil supports eyesight, ALA omega-3 feeds the brain and nerve cells, vitamins C and D back up an immune system that meets new germs at every playdate, and calcium builds bones that are getting real use now. Our guide to EU formula and immune support explains how these nutrients work together.
The foundations stay the same as the rest of the A2 line: organic skimmed A2 milk and whey, organic vegetable oils including palm oil from certified sustainable cultivation, and no fish oil, which keeps the recipe vegetarian. Like its siblings, this recipe does not carry the Demeter seal of the classic Holle cow range; it is fully certified EU Organic, with organic feed, no GMOs, and EU animal-welfare rules.
One thing to know: A2 refers to the type of casein, so this is still real cow milk. It is not suitable for babies with a confirmed cow's milk protein allergy. If allergies are a concern, always talk to your pediatrician first.
Stepping up from Holle A2 Stage 2? The switch is seamless: the same A2 milk and mild taste, tuned for a toddler on the move. Prefer biodynamic farming? The classic Holle Organic Baby Formula Stage 3 is the Demeter path for this age. Stage 3 is the final step in the A2 range and can be used until the end of the third year; from 12 months, Holle Organic Baby Formula Stage 4 is the classic toddler milk if you ever want to switch over.
Safety, Quality and Animal Welfare
Holle has been making organic baby food since 1933 and holds a high bar for farming and animal welfare. The cows used for this milk have year-round outdoor access under EU organic rules, and every batch is tested before release. Independent US testing recently examined dozens of infant formulas for heavy metals and other unwanted chemicals, and Holle came out with top marks.
EU baby formula follows strict European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) rules, including required DHA, staged iron by age, and no corn syrup solids. Those rules are a higher bar than FDA formula standards and apply to all EU and UK formulas we carry. Read more in our EU vs US formula guide.
Why Parents Trust Holle A2 Stage 3
What stands out in the reviews for this stage is quiet loyalty. "We kept choosing Holle A2 because it continued to suit our toddler well. It's one of those products we don't overthink anymore," one parent wrote. Mealtimes come up again and again: "Our toddler is eating more solids now, and Holle A2 Stage 3 complements them perfectly," and for the little explorers: "He's always on the move, and this milk keeps him full until his next meal." Smooth transitions, satisfied toddlers, and one less thing to think about: that is the pattern.

Frequently Asked Questions
What age is Holle A2 Stage 3 for?
It is a follow-on formula from 10 months, served as part of a mixed diet, typically 1 to 2 milk meals a day alongside family meals. It can be used all the way through the third year.
What is the difference between A2 Stage 2 and Stage 3?
Stage 3 carries a little more protein for a growing toddler, keeps iron high, and moves to fewer, larger milk meals as solid food takes the lead. The A2 milk protein and mild taste stay the same, so the transition is seamless.
Why choose this over plain cow's milk?
Plain milk brings calcium and protein, but Stage 3 adds iron, DHA, ALA omega-3, and vitamins C and D, exactly the nutrients unpredictable toddler diets tend to miss. It also keeps the gentle A2 protein your child is used to, always as part of a mixed diet.
Is it suitable for a cow's milk protein allergy?
No. A2 describes the casein type, but this is still genuine cow milk. For babies with a confirmed allergy or a diagnosed risk, a hypoallergenic formula with hydrolyzed protein is the right direction.
How long does one box last?
The 400 g (14.1 oz) box makes about 30 servings of 100 ml (3.4 fl oz), using the included scoop of 4.4 g per 30 ml of water. At 1 to 2 milk meals a day, one box typically lasts about two weeks. Our formula calculator shows exactly how many boxes you need for your little one's age.
