Description
Kendamil UK Comfort Formula is a gentle whole-milk formula for babies from birth to 12 months, with one recipe that covers all stages of the first year. It is a food for special medical purposes, developed for the dietary management of colic and constipation. It can be the sole source of nutrition up to 6 months and part of a weaning diet from 6 to 12 months.
When a little tummy struggles, the recipe works on three fronts at once. The protein is 90 percent whey, partially hydrolyzed and already broken into smaller pieces so a sensitive tummy has less work to do. Lactose is reduced to about a third of that in a regular formula, with gentle, easy-to-digest carbohydrates carrying the rest of the energy. A double dose of prebiotic fibers supports the gut flora. All of it is still built the Kendamil way: on whole milk fats with MFGM, a natural part of the milk fat also found in breast milk that supports your baby's brain development. There is no palm oil, no fish oil, no corn syrup, and no soy.
This creamy comfort milk was developed by Kendamil in the UK for the UK market and comes in an 800 g (28.2 oz) can. Everything on the can is in plain English, from the preparation steps to the feeding chart and ingredients, so there is nothing to translate.
Parents in our store give this comfort milk glowing reviews. "As a mom of three, I've tried many formulas over the years. This one feels gentle, and my baby has fewer tummy troubles since starting it."

What Makes This Formula Special
Colic and constipation have a way of taking over a whole household: the pacing, the back rubs, the 2 AM searches for answers. Kendamil Comfort is built for exactly those weeks. Partially hydrolyzed whey protein means the hardest digestive work is already done before the first sip. Reduced lactose takes pressure off a tummy that cannot yet handle the full amount, while keeping some lactose in because it remains a valuable milk sugar. The generous portion of GOS and FOS prebiotic fibers feeds the good gut bacteria that healthy digestion depends on. Many parents notice calmer feeds and softer stools once the recipe settles in. Our guide to why EU formulas help with colic explains the science in plain English.
What makes this comfort milk unique among gentle formulas is that Kendamil did not abandon its whole-milk philosophy to make it. The creamy base retains natural milk fat and MFGM, palm oil stays out, DHA comes from plant-based algae oil, and the recipe remains vegetarian, unique in the comfort category. It comes from the same family business since 1962 behind the classic ranges, with over 60 years of infant nutrition expertise in every can.
One practical note: because Comfort is a food for special medical purposes, use it under the guidance of your pediatrician, who can confirm colic or constipation is what your baby is dealing with. And when the tummy troubles pass, many families transition back to the everyday ranges: Kendamil UK Classic Stage 1 or Kendamil UK Organic Stage 1 keep the same creamy whole-milk taste. You will find every gentle option we carry in our formulas for sensitive tummies.
Safety, Quality and Animal Welfare
Kendamil developed this unique comfort recipe in the UK. It is made and tested to the same strict standards as the rest of the range, using milk from family farms where cows graze on grass and animal welfare is built into the sourcing. With over 60 years of expertise in infant nutrition, Kendamil remains proudly family-run.
EU baby formula follows strict European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) rules, including required DHA, staged iron by age, and no corn syrup solids. Those rules are a higher bar than FDA formula standards and apply to all EU and UK formulas we carry. Read more in our EU vs US formula guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Kendamil Comfort for?
It is a food for special medical purposes for the dietary management of colic and constipation, suitable from birth through 12 months. Use it under the guidance of your pediatrician, who can confirm it is the right fit for your baby's symptoms.
How is it different from regular Kendamil Stage 1?
Comfort partially hydrolyses the whey protein, so it arrives pre-broken for easier digestion, and reduces the lactose to about a third of a regular formula. The whole-milk base, algae DHA, prebiotics, and no-palm-oil recipe stay true to the rest of the range.
Is Kendamil Comfort lactose-free?
No, and that is deliberate. It contains reduced lactose, 2.2 g per 100 ml instead of the usual 6 g or more, so sensitive tummies get relief while still receiving some of this valuable milk sugar.
Do I need to switch stages during the first year?
No. Comfort is one recipe for all stages from birth to 12 months: the sole source of nutrition up to 6 months and part of a weaning diet alongside solids after that. From 12 months, families typically move to a toddler milk.
How long does one can last?
The 800 g (28.2 oz) can makes about 55 bottles of 100 ml (3.4 fl oz), using the included scoop of 4.3 g per 30 ml of water. Once opened, use it within 4 weeks. Our formula calculator shows exactly how many cans you need for your baby's age.

How to make a bottle

Preparation for all powdered formulas:
To open the can: snap open the tamper-proof clip and dispose of it immediately and safely, away from children. Hold the top of the can with both hands, place both thumbs under the lip, and push up to open. The scoop is held inside the lid. Open the foil seal by pulling back on the easy-open tab, then dispose of the foil.
- Wash your hands, then sterilize your feeding utensils according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Fill a kettle with 1 liter of freshly run tap water. Do not use repeatedly boiled water.
- Boil the water and leave it to cool for no more than 30 minutes, so it stays at a temperature of at least 70°C.
- Measure the required water into a sterilized bottle.
- Using the scoop provided, add the correct number of leveled scoops to the bottle. Use the straight edge inside the lid to level each scoop. Scoop size: 4.3g. Use 1 scoop per 30ml water.
- Place a sterilized teat and cap on the bottle and shake well to dissolve the powder.
- Cool to natural body temperature, approximately 37°C (98°F), by running the bottle under cold running water with the lid on. Always test the temperature on the inside of your wrist before feeding.
