Next to lactose, the main carbohydrate and the same sugar as in breast milk, the recipe adds 1.0 g of organic starch per 100 ml. The heart of the recipe is COMBIOTIK, HiPP's synbiotic combination of prebiotics and probiotics. The GOS prebiotic fibers feed the good bacteria already in your baby's gut, and the probiotic culture L. fermentum, originally found in breast milk, adds to them. HiPP also uses Metafolin® instead of ordinary folic acid. It is a natural premium folate, the same form found in breast milk. The body must convert folic acid first, while Metafolin® is directly available, so every baby can use it right away. Preparation for HiPP powdered formulas:

1. Wash your hands and sterilize the bottle, teat, and ring. Clean them thoroughly.
2. Boil fresh drinking water and let it cool. Do not prepare the formula with boiling or very hot water, as this may damage the natural lactic acid cultures.
3. Pour the correct amount of cooled boiled water into the sterilized bottle (see feeding chart).
4. Measure the recommended amount of powder. Fill the scoop loosely and level off. Add the powder to the water. Scoop size: 4.4g. Use 1 scoop per 30ml water.
5. Close the bottle and shake vigorously until the powder is fully dissolved.
6. Cool to drinking temperature, approximately 37°C (98°F). Test on the inside of your wrist before feeding. 

Important Information:

• Only use the scoop provided in the pack.
• Do not make feeds weaker or stronger than indicated by adding extra water/scoops, and do not add anything else to the milk.
• Always freshly prepare formula and do not prepare in advance. Use immediately, and discard leftovers at the end of the feed.
• Do not heat a bottle in a microwave, as hot spots may occur, which could cause scalding.
• All opened formulas should be used within 21 days. Never use a formula beyond its expiration date. The expiration date on the formula box/tin is listed according to European standards: day/month/year
• Avoid storing in areas of high heat or humidity.
