Description
HiPP Dutch Goat Stage 2 is an organic follow-on formula made with A2 goat milk for babies from 6 months, as part of a mixed diet alongside first solids. It follows naturally after HiPP Dutch Goat Stage 1, breastfeeding, or any other formula.
If gentle goat milk is what finally made feeds peaceful, Stage 2 keeps that comfort while the nutrition steps up. Goat milk naturally forms softer, smaller curds in the tummy and is rich in A2 beta-casein, so digestion stays easy through the busy months of first foods. Lactose from organic goat milk is the main carbohydrate, with no starch and no maltodextrin. GOS prebiotics from organic lactose support gut health, and DHA supports brain and eyesight during this stage of exploration. As always in this clean recipe, it contains no added sugar, corn syrup, or soy.
This creamy follow-on milk is crafted in Germany for the Dutch market. It is certified EU Organic (DE-ÖKO-001) with the HiPP Bio seal on top, and comes in a 400 g (14.1 oz) can. The label is in Dutch and French, so we translated the preparation instructions and ingredient info into English here.
This formula is rated 4.9 stars by parents in our store. "Clean ingredients and my daughter loves the taste!"

What Makes This Formula Special
At six months, everything speeds up: first spoonfuls, first sitting up, a baby who needs more from every feed. HiPP goat milk Stage 2 grows with it all while staying true to what made Stage 1 work.
The protein still comes from organic A2 goat milk, which forms softer curds than the A1 protein in most cow milk formulas so that a sensitive system can digest it with less effort. Iron doubles compared to Stage 1 (1.0 mg vs 0.50 mg per 100 ml). Babies are born with an iron store built up during pregnancy, and that store slowly runs down over the first months. By around 6 months, it needs topping up, so Stage 2 steps in with more iron. Energy rises slightly too, from 66 to 68 kcal per 100 ml, so the bottle sits well beside first meals.
The recipe stays deliberately simple. GOS prebiotic fibers from organic lactose feed the good bacteria already in your baby's gut, and organic vegetable oils round out the healthy fats. One honest note: this goat recipe contains prebiotics but no probiotic cultures. If probiotics are a priority, HiPP Dutch Stage 2 is the cow milk sister with both.
This formula carries EU Organic plus the HiPP Bio seal. EU Organic is the legal baseline: organic feed, no GMOs, and EU animal-welfare rules. The HiPP Bio seal goes further and means extra lab checks for purity beyond what organic law requires. The goats are raised under EU organic rules, in natural conditions without synthetic pesticides in their feed.
Please note: goat milk proteins are similar to cow milk proteins, so this formula is not suitable for a confirmed or suspected cow's milk protein allergy. Goat milk also naturally contains lactose, so it is not the right choice for diagnosed lactose intolerance. Talk to your pediatrician before you start or switch, and find all our gentle options on our specialty formulas for sensitive tummies page.
One practical note when you step up: the Stage 2 scoop is 4.5 g, slightly larger than the 4.3 g scoop in Stage 1. Always use the scoop that comes in the can. Prefer the biodynamic path? Holle Organic Goat Stage 2 is the other premium goat follow-on in our store.
Safety, Quality and Animal Welfare
Every batch goes through up to 260 safety checks before it leaves quarantine, from the raw goat milk to the finished can, in HiPP's climate-neutral plant. HiPP tests far more residues than the law requires and only packs a batch if it meets HiPP's own tighter limits.
EU baby formula follows strict European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) rules, including required DHA, staged iron by age, and no corn syrup solids. Those rules are a higher bar than FDA formula standards and apply to all EU and UK formulas we carry. Read more in our EU vs US formula guide.
Why Parents Trust HiPP Dutch Goat Stage 2

In our reviews, parents mention the mild, creamy taste babies accept without a fight, settled tummies through the solids phase, and even happier skin: "After a few days, we noticed it already started to help, and her skin looks much better."

How to make a bottle

Preparation for HiPP powdered formulas:
1. Wash your hands, then sterilize the bottle, teat, and ring carefully.
2. Boil fresh drinking water and leave it to cool down before mixing.
3. Pour the correct amount of cooled water into the bottle.
4. Fill the measuring scoop loosely and level it off. Scoop size: 4.5g. Use 1 level scoop per 30ml of water. Add the recommended number of scoops to the bottle.
5. Close the bottle and shake vigorously.
6. Let it cool to drinking temperature, approximately 37°C (98°F). Always check the temperature on the inside of your wrist before feeding.
Important Information:
• Always prepare the bottle just before the feed and give it to your baby straight away.
• Do not warm the milk in a microwave, because of the risk of burns.
• Do not re-use leftover milk. Use only the measuring scoop supplied in this can.
• Frequent and prolonged contact between the teeth and liquids containing carbohydrate can cause tooth decay.
• Teach good dental hygiene from the first milk teeth, especially before bedtime.
